I realised this afternoon that yesterday was the 13th anniversary since I was diagnosed with Diabetes, been a hard slog over those years but I have spent the last 9 months in a better position health wise since getting the pump. I remember not getting a great deal of information about the condition when first diagnosed, I had to learn most of the ins and outs of the condition myself. To be honest I still don't think I've learnt all I can about the condition but that I do learn something new all the time.

13 years is a long time, but it has literally flown by, I was not quite 18 when diagnosed, now I'm coming up to 31, I do hope that there will be a cure of some sort within the next 13 years but who knows?

Happy Diaversary! You've coped well through a very changeable period in your life, so well done 🙂 You'll never stop learning, I suspect, unless we get that 'cure' in the next 10 years when you may not need to know any more! 🙂

Happy Diaversary same number as me, also your from tamworth where i lived like last year haha!
hope you celebrate with cake. 🙂

Happy Diaversary. I've just celebrated my 42 years with diabetes:D

Happy Diaversary!

I passed my 23rd year with D back in October, the 28th I think.... I was only 4 when I was diagnosed.

I only remember snippets....
- prior to diagnosis, I remember sitting on the stairs asking my mom for glass after glass of pop
- I was hospital for 8 days I think...over Halloween, so my sister (10 at the time) helped me and the other kids on the ward carve a pumpkin 🙂
- A family friend came to visit me and bought me a witches hat with long green hair 🙂
- I remember they gave me the most hideous finger pricker... It was a square thing with the lancet on the outside and it shot round the corners of square into my fingers....barbaric! 😱 does anyone else remember this one?
- And I remember my folks practising injecting on oranges lol

It's funny, the things you remember 😛

Happy diversary!!!

Hope you are doing something nice!
