Absolutely shattered this morning...hard slog at work the last two days...never really know when will be working...it comes on an ad hoc basis...work is stressful ( usually enjoy that gives me a real impetus )... often in a closed hostile environment... difficult to plan for tablets... testing...eating etc.

Yes ...realise its a marathon...not a sprint...and I am certainly not built for speed ( but weight shifting rapidly thanks to Metformin )...need more planning... and control.

Blood sugars up last night...no figures...too depressing...down this morning to 6.9...felt better about that...blood tests later for HbA1c...finally know what that means.

Just not feeling IT today ( positive )...hope this improves over the weekend...

I'm sure things will improve for you soon. The uncertainty with work is very stressful.

This is a good place for letting off steam and letting it all out, which is a bg help.

Stress isn't great for you generally, but it can have an effect on your blood sugar levels as well. You're going through quite a few adjustments at the moment so hopefully things will improve as you get a better handle on things - and don't forget, people can have bad days even when they don't have diabetes!

Hope you are feeling better and have more oomph! soon 🙂

I used to do a lot of Jet skiing. I wore a full face crash helmet. In the winter in the North sea was cool. At times when we came back on beach & took lid off. "Steam" used to come out of my skid lid :D. Some days at work are -------- ! GOOD LUCK 😉

I'm sure things will improve...

Hobie you made me laughhhhhhhhh...momentarily the thought of me taking up jet skiing seemed hilarious... but...like the sound of venting all that steam when the crash helmet comes off...I am so clumsy...have difficulty getting on and standing still on the weighting scales...mind you that might be me trembling at the thought of what they will tell me...Thank you...

Thank you...just having a self pit day...not happy about that...too negative for me...yes could have been the stress...and trying to manage other health issues ( all diagnosed just before the Diabetes )...also waiting for other results...making me edgy...so friends coming later...dinner...venting...laughing...b******g...need to get it out of my system...sure that will help...

my scales usually tell me to Get Off! I completely understand your frustrations, disappointments and the feeling that whichever way you turn Diabetes is there waiting to wag a finger and say "No...not you!"

Yes, it is a Be-yatch and a sneaky one at that. Stuff goes wrong that they never told you about and when you ask they just say "oh yes...didn't you know?". Erm, sorry Doc but you're the one with the Medical Training and qualifications not me!! There's no point in skirting the issue, Diabetes can cause you problems in all sorts of ways...but only if you allow it too. There will be some things in your control and others that aren't. It's about controlling what you can and getting help with those you can't and, if that help is a rant and a "why me?" once in a while, then so what - you're as entitled as the next person to have a moan.

Stick with it ...you, me and all of us here are in it for the long haul. Enjoy your dinner 😛

Spot on Jonsi...spoken to GP re: side effects and other issues...his reply...' oh yes we call it the silent killer'...for christs sake...overall he is quite good...but his delivery is off...it was when he found I had high blood pressure... told him had no symptoms...his response...'yes we call it The Silent Killer'...when told him about a certain 'ladies' problem...the questions...blimey...felt like I was back at my old convent school...being interrogated by the nuns...and to the question do you bleed after sex...my response of 'well actually I prefer to smoke' didn't even raise a smile ( hope I'm not sharing too much here...don't want to make you chaps blush )...just an off day...sure will get it together over the weekend...just seasoning up some banging Jerk Chicken for dinner......Thank you...
