Please can anyone work this out for me - new to this game 😱

Have a simple new recipe for chocolate ice cream for my machine but I cant work out the carbs in cocoa powder😡

Label as follows:-
each teaspoon(4g) with 200ml semi-skimmed milk contains 10.2 g carbs
100g contains 12.7g carbs

My recipe says use 3 heaped tablespoon of cocoa, 600ml milk and 50g sugar. (Thought i would experiment with cutting back the sugar.)

Dont know how much a heaped tablespoon weighs - guessing 16g but need help please

200ml of milk is about 10grams of Carbohydrate

50 grams of sugar is what is says

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_does_1_tablespoon_cocoa_powder_weigh

Googling thee cocoa powder a tablespoon holds about 6 grams, so I would say 20 grams of cocoa for the ice cream recipe = 3 grams of carbohydrate (12.7 divided by 5)

So in total I would say 83 grams for the lot

I would weigh the powder to be sure

Hope that helped

o thanks - so it was the 12.7 figure i should have been using - couldnt get it to make sense in relation to the other figure given with milk, but think i get it now (phew)
If it is 83g for the lot that's much less than bought ice cream isnt it? Even if I do use all the sugar.
Thanks for your help - you are very kind :D

its simiar on the back of cereal packets, they give the 100g just cereal then a 30g cereal with 100ml of milk......

I never have 30g of cereal and never 100ml of milk, so for me finding out how much milk i have and then just adding the cereal value only.......

no doubt it is much less.........i would still weigh your powder.......ultimately unless its all getting eaten at once its going to be small amounts of carbohydrates you will be out, which is allowed from time to time...
