How much powdered cinnamon to the heap of dry porridge in the bowl, Hobie - just a shake or like half a teaspoon? Just thinking it must improve porridge, at least it would have some taste!

Really nice 🙂. If you smoke tabs all the time its a wonder You can taste anything :D

You know nothing whatever about my husband's smoking habits Hobie. Please answer the question! It is me that doesn't like porridge, not him. I still don't intend to eat it anyway, but just sounded like it might be nice for anyone that does eat it. You obviously enjoy it - why shouldn't someone else?

You mentioned your other half not me. I will have some porridge in morning before work.o_O

@trophywench 😱 how can you not like porridge!! 🙂

na I know loads of people don't like it and some cant stand the texture of it etc, but I'm a porridge lover and have it every morning done in almond milk and some lovely raspberries stirred through 😛

my grandad has his done in just water with salt, yuck lol xx

Well, I never tried it until I was 50+ Kaylz - my mother didn't like it, so we didn't get to try it. The man I was married to for nearly 30 years also didn't like it so again there was never any in the house.

This husband does like it, so he has it when he wants it - but I've tried a little taste on the end of a spoon and well - it doesn't seem to taste of anything, and it's a peculiar consistency sort of not unlike large tapioca, AKA frogspawn pudding, squashed and which you forgot to put the sugar in!

I would just cook the porridge as normal, and dust with powdered cinnamon, then it hits as a separate but complementary taste, just like you would with rice pudding. Or indeed, sprinkled on a cappuccino. Cinnamon, of course, has (allegedly) been shown to have an amazing number of health benefits, including reducing insulin resistance, but stopping short of hair restoration.

What Hoby does, could of course be completely different. I was just describing the best way to do it, because stirring it in wouldn’t be as pleasant, either in taste or mouth feel.

And porridge doesn’t taste or eat like Tapioca, TW. It tastes of Oats. It’s years of fags that has blinded you to the joys of porridge:D

Alright then - maybe it's possible I just don't like the taste of oats end of story - but never having been able to try them as a child, I wouldn't know!

Always do my porridge with water. Add in fresh berries or blob of frozen apple while cooking, then a generous topping of cinnamon. Yum yum.
