Just wondering what everyone's chosen hypo treatments were, I personally use jelly babies although a know it all (in reality knows nothing, you know the type of people I mean lol) suggest I use barley sugars now I don't know about anyone else but there's no way I want to be crunching my way through a barley sugar when I'm hypo lol x

I'd have thought barley sugar would take too long to crunch. And wreck my teeth! I want something easily chewed and swallowed. I use fruit pastilles when I'm out, because they come in a handy tube,( and that's what my DSN suggested) and jelly babies at home, because OH likes them, so we always have some in ( he knows not to finish them, but if he did, I've always got my private stash of FPs)

Me neither. They probably wouldn't work as fast as my dextrose tabs or juice either.
I don't use jelly babies as I'd have none left for hypo treatment plus I'd need to buy a bag everyday 😱

Exactly, my teeth aren't the strongest anyway, runs in the family so it would cause me problems but hey when she found out about my stubborn hypo the other week she jumped on me with the you should have used barley sugars x

I use Gluco tabs as they don't taste nice and I am not likely to overdo. Which I have when using Jelly Babies. I have used very small cans or cartoons of juice in the past.
I would not have thought of Barley Sugar.

I rely on lucazade always does the trick for me if it's not to low then a quick biscuit normally works

Dextrose tablets. Small, low cost, dissolve quickly and simply glucose.

The quickest thing to bring me up when I'm low is orange juice, but I carry GlucoTabs in my bag (lighter!) and have got jelly sweets in my car. The first DSN wot edjumacated me, all those years ago, insisted on sugar cubes but I didn't like the crunching and the thought of my poor teeth disintegrating.😱 Can't have Jelly Babies or Jelly Belly beans in the house cos I love em too much 🙄 - and they're too expensive anyway.🙂

Usually jelly babies, sometimes a small carton of orange juice.

Usually jelly babies at home, but I have gluco tabs in my handbag to take up less room! I also now use glucorabs at work, because they taste awful, and my colleagues were helping themselves to my jelly babies!

I have a couple of squares of Thorntons Butter tablet as it is about the same carb value as jelly babies, 78g per 100g and is suitable for vegetarians - which I am. It is so disgustingly sweet I really don't want to eat any more than a couple of pieces which I keep in a small bag for those special occasions- it works for me 🙂

Dextrose tabs for me or an oatcake if I want to head one off at the pass.

Jelly babies (except the green ones, of course 😉) Kendal Mint cake might be good 🙂 How many places sell barley sugars these days anyway? You can get jelly babies practically anywhere! 🙂

I use skittles. Or normal Coca-Cola if I can get hold of it.

The shop literally about 40 seconds from my house still sells them, they still do sweetie jars and a pick and mix tray lol 🙂, not for me anymore though :( I used to love them x

Any sweets will do me, but I prefer jelly sweets over boiled sweets for hypo treatment and keeping fueled during sport. Fruit puree pouches (intended for weaning toddlers) are also good - taste OK and contain about 9 to 20g in each pouch of 80g or 100g.

Dextrosol for me. Returned to these after using them years ago. Not nice enough to scoff but alright for hypos, cheap enough and in a convenient packet.

Jelly babies, including the green ones for me.
Quick to release the glucose.

Oh yeah, GlucoTabs are rank!😱 The taste is a mix of toilet cleaner and chalk, which is good cos there's no way I'd end up snaffling more of them than necessary.😉

I've been looking for your weaning pouches, Copepod, but can only find ones that have small amounts of carb - certainly not enough to bring me up quickly. Which brand / generic do you buy?
