I have just looked on my Carbs and Cals App there is something called a Caribean Dumpling and 2 weighing 120grams are listed at 63 carbs.

Thank you that's a lot of carbs that's probily why I do not have them very often.

If I’m making something from scratch, I’d look at the nutritional info on the packet, find the 'carbs per 100g'. column, calculate how many carbs in the amount I'm using (divide the number of carbs in 100g by 100, then multiply by the number of grams you are actually using). Do this for all the ingredients and then add the totals together. (for dumplings, it’s probably going to be just the flour). Then divide the total by the number of portions you are carving the dish up into. Bingo, carbs per portion.

Yes thats what i said to my wife was its nearly all in the flour there is a tiny bit of carbs( 10g per 100 ) in the the suet but not worth calculating for 100 grams of dumplings thanks for your reply.

I've been debating beef suet dumplings but haven't made them yet - I sometimes do herby ones or cheese variants. Using the recipe on the suet packet makes 8 small dumplings with 100g flour (I think) so I reckon about 12g carbs per dumpling. The lower calorie versions of dumplings use greater quantities of flour of varying types.
