Unless it is sweet, wine is very carb friendly.
I do not need to bolus for it.

Enjoy your wine and your evening.
Just remember to keep an eye on your blood sugars as alcohol can have a delayed effect and see your blood sugars drop. The usual advice is to go to bed a little higher than usual

Hi @Type1Pat, we drink red wine at home (I'm type 2 though) and that's one of the regular bottles we get - it's fine for me 🙂

You don’t need to worry about the carbs in a bottle of normal Merlot (by normal I mean dry, not one of those weird sweetened low alcohol things).

The one you’ve posted a pic of is dry - and very nice! Enjoy it! 🙂 No bolus necessary - in fact you might need a small amount of carbs with it if you’re not having it with a meal.

Oh brilliant, never drank wine before diagnosis, so have not got a clue, just wanted to make sure I hadn't picked up a sweet one. Thank you everyone for the reassurance .

Ooh, you have a treat in store then! 😉

That will be fine @Type1Pat. And very tasty!

That brand is also vegan if you happen to need that at any point in the future. Some wines use fish or egg products for ‘fining’ (making the wine clear) which means that many wines are not even vegetarian.
