Hi Guys

I keep thinking of so many questions - diagnoised type 2 but slim and 44 and v fit. Loosing weight still but well controlled on metformin. Over the past few weeks I have noticed large bags forming under my eyes. After reading other posts on here Im not convinced that I am type 2 as I ended up in hopsital 17 sugars and 4 plus keytones. V tired and not sleeping that well. Those of you that have been misdiagnoised from type 2 to 1 how did you feel when on oral drugs were you still tired. Any ideas about Bags. Thanks for any advice

The bags could be a consequence of being tired all the time - are you actually sleeping well? Are they just bags or dark shadows?

Do you have a meter and strips to test your BGs? I rather think +4 ketones doesn't normally happen with T2. However, the bags sound more like lack of sleep.

The bags under your eyes can be due to lack of sleep and stress; being diagnosed is a major life-changing event and extremely stressful, taking control is very important and so is being kind to yourself. Throwing you a big hug (()) x

Well - are the oral drugs doing anything for your Blood Glucose levels? If so, you can't be type 1 really.

When you were diagnosed - how long had it been roughly since you last ate? And had you been eating normally up to then?
