Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
In the past month Ive found that there is a wealth of information and advice on line to help manage my type 2 (unmedicated) diabetes.Ive got myself the code free tester and im keen to get on with testing and monitoring to discover which foods will have the least impact long term. Can any one recommend a good online tracker / app/ program that will help. I live in Scotland and will have access to the Nhs online resource whick may be all I need but not too sure as ive not got access as yet. Any views / advice appreciated

Hi diadav99.welcome and hello.
i live in scotland as well. too.how do you get access to nhs online resource

Carolg. .Mydiabestesmyway.scot.nhs.uk is the web portal. Register on line and access detail should arrive by letter ( waiting for mine) seems to be good online resource inc section for recording readings, statistical analysis etc. Id imagine nhs in rest of uk will have the same online support .

Cowboy Bob , thanks, ive the same device , ill have a look

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm old school and track my food etc using good old pen and paper.

No, we don't have this, unfortunately! :( Scottish members have mentioned here in the past how useful it is!

I tried getting registered for this when it first came out, but you needed your GP to sign the letter and Doctor Idiot refused on the grounds that I'd become 'obsessed', the same argument she used when refusing me testing strips (this was before my re-diagnosis). I forgot all about it, but I've registered now and am waiting for the letter, if it needs signed by my GP I'll take it to Dr S instead of Dr I.

I've had a number of apps over the years and am currently trying out mySugr, but I also use a good old fashioned spreadsheet much of the time since that's how I started out.

Why do we have to find this stuff out ourselves.looking round the site

Cos Carol - WE treat OUR diabetes - not the NHS !!!

It's only just occurring to them that they need to give us the TOOLS - not a flippin lecture! - to facilitate us to do that very thing. And - with a good grace!
