Before T2 diagnosis 3ish months ago I was running approximately 50 miles a week. After that little bombshell there was obviously a need to lose weight (about 5 stone) and cut down on carbs.
I'm still losing weight but it's noticeably slowed down as I'd expect as I get closer to my goal weight. 4 of 5 stone down. Dr. showed some concern at my blood pressure of 140/80 but for the last month its average has been 121/58. Don't have my BG averages to hand but they seem to be fine. Garmin says my average resting heartrate is 39 and Vo2 Max is Superior.
Metformin was pretty hard on me and by week 2 & 3 I was down to less than 15 miles a week but weight was dropping off due to the very low carb & metformin. I'm back up to about 35 miles a week but that's at a cost of eating much more (although not massive amounts) carbs to the point where I'm wondering if it's unhealthy with a T2 diagnosis.
I'm not a fitness junkie by any means but enjoy running from a heath & mental wellbeing perspective. Can anyone offer any advice on finding that sweet spot where I can eat enough to be able to run but without aggravating my T2D.
Thanks
