Help needed please re Active insulin on Accu-Chek Aviva Expert Meter.

I've noticed in the last couple of days that when it's only a couple of hours since my last bolus my meter isn't showing 'active insulin' if anybody can give me any help with this before I contact my DSN or meter rep please do TIA x

What have you got your duration of insulin set at?

Have you actually confirmed with your meter that you have actually bloused?
With a pump you have to ok the bolus.

Yes when I did my mealtime bolus I pressed 'ok'.

I will do a 2 hour check after my lunch & see what it advises at that check

It only looks at the correction part of the bolus, not the carbs. So if your blood sugar was in range, i.e. you didn't need a correction with your bolus, then it won't show any active insulin even though the carbs part will still be working. I think this is because it assumes that the carbs part of the bolus will all get used dealing with the food, and if you eat more food 2 hours later then you will need more insulin for it, whereas the correction part you don't want to duplicate if the first dose hasn't got you all the way back to normal after 2 hours. Because it will still be working and you don't need to correct again or you will go low.

2 hours after my lunch I tested a little later than the 2 hour mark unlike after breakfast when I tested exactly 2 hours after. My BG ranges are 5-10mmol
