Good Morning.

Just had breakfast, and can appreciate a good meal. Yesterday, I was doing a shift 8 to 8pm. Only had flapjack and tea at 6.45am
9.30 cup of tea
12.00 fish and chips
14.00 cup of tea
16.30 - belvita biscuits
21.00 - two slices of toast with butter and honey with 3 TUC biscuits.

No wonder I felt all weak this morning before breakfast.
Onwards and upwards

Wow - so many carbs made me feel weak at the knees.
I much prefer, and get on far better with a breakfast such as steak or sausages with mushrooms, or scrambled egg with cheese and tomato, even fish - smoked haddock with cauliflower is good. Coffee with cream to follow and I am set up for the day.
No chips, biscuits, flapjack, only low carb bread, no honey or anything high sugar.
Do you test your blood glucose? I just wonder what it was after all that

Well, I felt a bit weak this morning, so I knew It was down to lack of food. As I was anxious yesterday and still going through an anxious/depressed episode, although clearing a bit. When I am anxious I tend to eat less. I had the fish and chips as I needed energy, and something filling. I was working Security at The Grove Hotel setup in Watford. Everything was a distance. If I had taken my Metformin before my lunch, I would have fainted me thinks.
But lesson learned - eat properly.

I didn't test but I felt full after fish and chips. I have lost weight. Go to the gym and cut out fizzy drinks and chocolates .So I didn't want pies, needed the fish

Couldn't even eat all the chips yayy. Tomorrow will bring my own food with me for sure

Good to have a plan @rustee2011

sometimes it’s hard to find what you need when you need it and there only seem to be less than ideal choices - either not enough or too much!

I could happily eat just the fish. That was delicious. Haha. But Monday week. A good lesson was learnt by me. I had a huge amount of chocolate. Large DoubleDecker Large Twix and later Large Wispa. Plus a millionaire shortcake much earlier. Well I must have urinated for London at night. Up and down to the toilet. Got nasty anxiety. I realised yes I gave up fizzy drinks, but cut down on the chocolate too. Have fruit if I fancy a snack. I was so flippant, believing I was the tea I had that sent me to the toilet. Wrong ...all that sugar. Made me evaluate and realise that just because I go to the gym....don't bypass my food. Now for chocolate either the snack biscuit or bournville. Only had one snack biscuit yesterday. Biscuits now will be Cornish Wafers or TUC

Because my readings are low. Complacency and Arrogance came in. Tut tut. I forgive myself. Onwards and Upwards

😱 so many carbs

I tend to have multiseed bread, when I am at home. Although not a dairy person, I will now have some butter on the bread. If I want it tasty a wee bit of honey included as well. I don't want to have jam or marmalade. When out doing work as security, I do prefer a sandwich, so I am careful to a point. Just need to take an active role

Have you managed to test yet after all those carbs? Even your "usual" menu seems quite carb heavy for a Type 2 diabetic, would be interesting to know what impact it's having on your levels xx

I will get there to testing myself. My Dr always tells me " Why are you doing that, your HbA1c are low (46) last time. That's overdoing it. You have it usually well controlled. No need to start doing that now.
You are not on insulin

I don't often have potatoes or chips rather. I prefer cous cous over rice. Not a drinker or smoker.

cou cous is carby too !
I don't think this website lists cous cous, but gives carbs as equivalent teaspoons of sugar for many common foods: https://phcuk.org/sugar/

The thing is, before when diagnosed, I would have my metf in the morning, however as I lost weight; taking it then would make me hungrier as it does reduce your sugar, therefore Doc advised me to go on to a lower dosage and take with lunch. I have felt that before when I take it without having a full meal. Since then I lost over 25kg.
Then it was reduced. But I feel healthier and fitter, hence why I wonder if my meds need to be adjusted back to 3 tablets or 2 tablets a day.
I also realised that stuff seems to happen to me at Winter. I love Winter, yet I always seem to get into an anxious/ depressive episode. This year I took steps, made sure I had more work coming in. Got really focused on my gym stuff. Eat Avacado more and fish too for the mood. Even felt better looking at my body.....yet...
